40 Couldn’t Be Sweeter

Today is my birthday!

I am now 40 years old.

My husband asked me how I felt about it. 

My strongest feeling is disbelief. 

Not just at the size of the number, because that is definitely a thing!

But also, where I “am” in my current life, at the age of 40. 

I just married the most amazing man, the absolute love of my life, 6 weeks ago, surrounded by our favorite people in the most amazing setting. 

We fulfilled one of our first life goals together, 5 months ago, by moving into our van, full time. 

We get to travel from trail head to trail head, searching out the next great ride. 

I am surrounded by the most amazing family and I have the best of friends. 

I have the most amazing career.

I am a life coach that gets to help so many people live the life they want. 

And I am 40!

I could say it was luck that got me here.

Or maybe I was “in the right place at the right time”.

And maybe some of that is true. 

But really, it has been a string of decisions that I have made, to get me to this point. 

Too often we overlook how we have gotten to this place in our current life.

We give our schooling the credit. We give the people in our life the credit. We give luck the credit.

And we overlook what we have put in.

We overlook all the small & big decisions, that we made, to get to this point. 

We overlook the tiny successes that have compiled into bigger successes, to reach this place. 

And by doing this, we overlook ourselves. 

I want you to bring it back. 

Bring it back to you.

Take note of all the amazing things you have done, no matter how small, to get you here.
