Control

As humans, we like to control things.
It makes sense.
Control gives us a sense of power.
Control gives us a sense of structure.
But what are we really in control of?
Besides our animals and children (sometimes that can even be debatable!), really just ourselves.
We think we are controlling others or how the day is going to go.
But we are really just trying to control these things.
And we continue to try harder, when things start to go awry, by clenching our grasp down a little tighter.
Sometimes we are clenched down so tight we end up pushing others out of the way to reach the goal or whatever the end point is.
And during this process, we may not be showing up how we want to.
So what if instead, we release that grasp a little?
What if we instead turn our focus on ourselves, inward?
What if we worked on controlling ourselves “better”?
What if we worked on becoming the person we want to be, instead of just the idea of who we could be.
What if? There are so many options.
