Never Forget

I remember this day twenty-two years ago.

The phone rang, and a voice yelled, “Turn on the TV!” and then dial tone.

I remember watching the replays in horror, thinking the entire time, “This can’t be real.”

But it was. And it is.

That was a day to never forget.

Today is a day to never forget.

By remembering, we honor those who were needlessly killed.
We honor those who stood up and helped.
We honor the lives that are still here.

Never forget.
