No regrets

Today we rode our bikes along a ridge.
It was super windy.
The wind was so strong, it was pushing us off the trail.
And it was a long way down on both sides.
After almost 2 miles of fighting the wind & getting pushed around, I wanted off that ridge.
I wanted the ride to be over.
I’ve never done that before.
I’ve never been the one to call it quits, especially if there’s a fun trail to ride.
I’ve never been the one to call it quits after less than 2 miles of riding.
It was interesting watching myself get to that point.
The inner dialogue was a battle.
“It’s not that bad, you’re overreacting.”
“It’s terrible out here! We are not safe!”
“The guys aren’t complaining, you’re the only one having issues!”
“This is not worth an injury!”
But then I realized:
I am NOT the kind of gal that calls it quits, especially when there’s a fun trail to ride.
I am NOT the kind of gal that calls it quits after only 2 miles of riding, when it took us 45 mins to drive out there.
And that’s when I knew.
It was time to stop the ride.
Because I know what kind of gal I am.
I am a strong ass woman.
Who doesn’t call it quits without a solid reason.
Who doesn’t worry about what others think of her.
And who has her own back.
All the time.
Once I remembered who I am, the decision was easy.
I didn’t waffle at all.
I had my own back.
It was time to turn around.
How would your Thursday, this week, this month look for you, if you had your own back?
Give it a try.
You won’t regret it.
Are you not sure what having your own back means?
Let me show you.
