Push It

I really enjoy hiking.

Why?

Because I love being outside on the trail taking in the beauty of the world around me; the views, the smells, and the never-ending amazement of nature.

But if I was to be completely honest, I prefer trail running.

Why?

Because I get everything I mentioned above PLUS even more.

I get an extra physical push because I am moving my body faster than normal (not much faster, just faster):

  • This increases my heart rate and engages my muscles. My lungs (and heart) are working hard to fulfill my body's oxygen demands.

  • I am burning fat while increasing my strength.

I get to flex my mental game in a couple different ways:

  • Because I am physically pushing myself, I am continually exercising my self-discipline, motivation, and perseverance. Those are all driven by the thoughts running through my head.

  • Because I am moving faster, my brain registers all the obstacles and navigates around them.

Everything within me is alive.

And when I finish, the sense of accomplishment and pride wash over me long enough for me to want to return for more.

What can you do in your life to push yourself just that little bit?

That push that makes you a little uncomfortable during the process but gives you that pride and accomplishment at the end of it?

It doesn't have to be trail running and it doesn't have to be epic.

It just has to be a little bit of a push.

Are you ready to push yourself just that little bit?

I would love to help support you on your journey.
