Try anyways.

My husband, Nate and I were riding our mountain bikes on a trail we had never been on before. On landscape we had never ridden before.

At times, there were 2-3 foot rock faces looking at me.

Inviting me to either ride up them or walk my bike up them.

I tried to ride up the first two without success.

As I approached a 3rd rock face, I sighed a deep, “noooo”.

But Nate was waiting for me. And he said “You’ve got it, it’s easy”.

So I rode it. And it was easy.

Was it Nate’s words of encouragement?

Maybe.

Did he get me to believe in myself just long enough to make it happen?

Probably.

Would I have been able to ride up it without him?

Maybe. I’ll never know.

Sometimes, we need a cheerleader.

Sometimes, we forget to be our own cheerleader.

In that moment, I forgot to be my own.

I was looking at the 2 past “failures” to determine how I rode that 3rd rock face, if at all.

I was anticipating failing before I even tried.

Nate reminded me to try anyways.

Try anyways.

I would love to be your cheerleader! And to show you how to be your own.
